There are a lot of ways to view your disk space usage and perform disk maintenance under Windows. The most convenient however, is to do the following:

1) Double click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop.

2) Right mouse click the disk of your choice - usually the hard disk "C"

3) Select "Properties" from the drop down menu.

Once you've done this you are presented with a nice color pie chart detailing your disk usage. Then, if you then select the "Tools" folder tab you are presented with the option to check for errors (scandisk), defragment and/or backup the disk.

This is quite a bit faster than having to find and run these utilities from the start menu. Additionally, the "tools" section tells you how many days have gone by since you last performed each maintenance routine!
